Mediation

Mediation is an efficient and effective alternative to traditional litigation. At The Commercial Toolkit, we provide professional Civil & Commercial Mediation and Workplace Mediation services (both in person and virtually).

Civil & Commercial Mediation

Civil & Commercial mediation considers disputes, which may have arisen as a result of any aspect of a commercial transaction, including contract breaches, partnership disagreements, intellectual property rights and trade issues.

A Civil & Commercial mediator facilitates discussions, helping parties reach mutually agreeable solutions whilst maintaining confidentiality and minimising the time and costs associated with litigation.

Workplace Mediation

Conflict can arise in any workplace relationship and is best addressed early.

If ignored, it can escalate into formal grievance and disciplinary actions or lead to employment tribunals. Mediation helps avoid these costly and formal processes by guiding participants to reach mutually acceptable solutions.

Using mediation can significantly improve employee relations and wellbeing, positively impacting an organisation’s bottom line and providing a safe space for conversations that restore and maintain working relationships.

Our Mediator – Dr Rhian Thomas

Mediation services (in Welsh & English) are provided by Dr Rhian Thomas, a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) accredited i) Civil & Commercial and ii) Workplace Mediator.

Rhian is an experienced Business Consultant, portfolio Non-Executive Director (Aerospace, Health, Finance) and a former Senior Lecturer, with FTSE100 commercial career experience, having operated globally within diverse markets.

Skilled in multiple disciplines including Commercial Management, Tendering & Procurement, Strategy, Sales & Negotiation, Business Development, Governance and Risk with a career history in highly regulated private, public and third sectors including at non-executive/board level, with significant committee chairing and leadership experience.

Rhian brings empathy and understanding to each mediation, building rapport with all involved to foster a constructive, non-judgemental environment with a focus on efficiently settling open disputes.

Rhian proactively manages each mediation to enable parties to share concerns and issues, facilitating collaborative negotiations to find practical solutions and productive outcomes for all.
